Phone Numbers
Human Resources > Workforce Administration > Search > Employee > Personal
The grid in this section contains an employee's phone and fax numbers, onsite and offsite, cell and otherwise.
Each phone or fax number corresponds to a row in the grid, with the primary number appearing in the top row. Remaining rows are sorted alphabetically by Phone Type. At least one phone number per employee is required.
To open a new Phone Number Detail section with fields available for entry, click the New button, located on the left side of the section header.
To edit a phone or fax number, click the edit icon
, located in the far-left cell of the appropriate row. The Phone Number Detail section opens below the grid.
To delete a phone or fax number from the grid, click the delete icon
, located immediately to the left of the Phone Typecell in the appropriate row.
Note: A phone number marked as primary cannot be deleted until a different primary phone number has been selected.
The following table contains descriptions of the fields in the Phone Numbers Detail section:

| Phone Type |
Required for each Phone Number. Tells whether the number is an employee's home phone, work phone, cell, fax or other type. These numbers are printed on the Employee Information Report. The same phone type may not be selected for more than one number. Click the field prompt to select from a list of available phone types. |
| Phone Number |
Required. Ten-digit number. You may omit parentheses, dashes and other characters; as soon as you <Tab> off the field, the number is formatted. If this number is the only one on record, Phone Type also is required, and the number must be designated as the Primary Phone Number. |
| Extension | Phone extension number. This entry may contain 10 digits and does not require the entry of a Phone Number. |
| Primary Phone Number |
Tells whether the phone number is an employee's primary means of contact. Only one primary number may be designated at a time. Selecting this box automatically deselects any other number that already may be designated as the employee's primary number in the grid. |
Once you are satisfied with your entries in the Phone Number Detail section, click Save. To save the phone number and clear the form for the entry of another phone number, click Save/New.
